Jewish Origami?

I thought this was a site with a lot of soul.  Jewish Oregami.  Make a sevivon, a purim basket, and star of david from the instructions on the site.  The author also provides names of books by this name as well.

Innovation Israel

I don’t have personal experience with this program, but it sounds amazing.  Instead of focusing on the Israel of yesterday, solely on our history. It focuses on the amazing strength, innovation and with pride shares the huge technology story of Israel and its people.  Plenty of history, nature and trips are included as well.  But, its a twist on the traditional trip and my guess is its well worth it.

Just for the Mitzvah - Crafts and Projects

I ran across this catalog recently, and it has some very inexpensive crafts for toddlers, young kids to do covering all the holidays, and Israeli crafts too for Yom Haatzmaot. I haven’t purchased anything here, but could see these items being useful for party favors, activities for chugim (activities) , etc.

Israeli Scent

I found this site and really enjoyed their DVD selection - though note that they offer PAL and not just NTSC items. To view them you need a universal or multi-system DVD player.  But, they have some popular American movies for kids like Ice Age and Shrek in Hebrew as well as for girls the fairy tales in hebrew like Cinderella, Snow White, etc.

CISD - Community of Israelis in San Diego

I have started volunteering my time with a group locally trying to build a home away from home for Israelis in San Diego.  The Board is made up of some really wonderful people and we’re working on plans for new programs, events, etc.

I just completed the web site and we’ve done our best to highlight all current Israeli programming in town.  Visit the site at: http://www.sdisrael.com

If you’re thinking of moving to San Diego this is a great site to get a feel for what’s happening in town for Israelis.  We hope to have a welcome kit for newcomers shortly and a Directory as well as other offerings.
