Jewish Origami?

I thought this was a site with a lot of soul.  Jewish Oregami.  Make a sevivon, a purim basket, and star of david from the instructions on the site.  The author also provides names of books by this name as well.

Just for the Mitzvah - Crafts and Projects

I ran across this catalog recently, and it has some very inexpensive crafts for toddlers, young kids to do covering all the holidays, and Israeli crafts too for Yom Haatzmaot. I haven’t purchased anything here, but could see these items being useful for party favors, activities for chugim (activities) , etc.

Israelforkids.org

This site was created by the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. to share with kids the story of Israel, its languages, currency, geography and food.  There are some nice coloring pages of hebrew letters, a lot of fun animation with really useful facts.  A very current and realistic view of Israel.  I think even young 4-6 yr old kids could enjoy it.  Certainly older kids will gain a lot from it.  There are even a few fun games.

Hebrew Songs.com -

This site is an unbelievable resource of hebrew songs - some 4000 or more.  http://www.hebrewsongs.com/search.asp

The site offers in most cases both transliterations as well as hebrew words for the song.  You have to scroll through an alphabetical listing, but its pretty easy to navigate and the information is great.

Hebrew For Me

I actually saw this in use in a K class at the Jewish Academy here in town during my tour and was impressed.  A fun way to teach kids vocabulary using the computer.

http://www.zigzagworld.com/hebrewforme/

They have a graphic literally of various scenes like the breakfast table, the classroom, etc. and the words for various items you can put in the room.  You drag the word over to the room and it puts the graphic of the item in the picture.  Pretty cute.

Jewish Education & Entertainment

This site has some wonderful games for kids learning Hebrew; Hang Man in Hebrew, Trivia quizes, a word search in Hebrew (covering lots of easy vocabulary for kids). http://www.j.co.il - make a point to try the word search in Hebrew.  Its very cool.

There’s a songbook that let’s you print some popular songs and prayers - the words in Hebrew.  Some songs are secular Israeli, others are holiday oriented.  http://www.j.co.il/songs/index.asp

There’s a fun application too that let’s you create a banner in Hebrew and allows you to use a variety of nice Hebrew fonts.  http://www.j.co.il/signmaker/index.asp

SarahDavid.com - Ivrit Activities for Kids

This site sells storybooks, CDs and more for parents and teachers to use to teach children Ivrit. I don’t know much about the materials themselves though I support anyone claiming that their materials make learning Hebrew fun and Exciting.

They have a great activity page with downloadable pages for free - I really liked the color by letter. My 4 yr old enjoyed it a lot.
