This publication was recommended in a recent meeting of our San Diego "cafe v’Ivrit". It seems to cover Israel along with politics, religion and culture.
If you’re not familiar with this weekly publication, its a great publication out of the east coast in the United States covering topics from Israel to Jewish to Yiddish.

These sites have a ton of music, mp3 files to hear the songs and also lyrics in English and Hebrew. Not as many pdf downloads for sheet music as is available for other holidays.

This site has a lot of the classics and more. Many songs are available for free as pdfs with either guitar and/or piano sheet music as well as lyrics. Some lyrics are in Hebrew others just in English.

This site is a terrific news site for Israel, they offer an English version and a Hebrew version. http://www.ynetnews.com/ and http://www.ynet.co.il/
Its great practice to read the Hebrew version, and then flip over to the English when you don’t understand something. The company has a great product too called the Megaphone run by Collactive at this address: http://my.ynet.co.il/collative/
The idea behind the Megaphone is that you get desktop delivery of hot news, and a way to proactively respond to legislators, etc. about the news. Its a really powerful community tool.
